Mayjo means the vehicle rental supplier shown overleaf, which pertains to PCG Ent. Ltd.  Every reference to Mayjo means a reference to PCG Ent. Ltd.

Hirer means the person(s) signing this Agreement, any other person or entity to which the charges incurred under this Agreement are to be billed, and any additional Hirer or otherwise permitted to drive the vehicle with the written consent of Mayjo.



Mayjo rents to Hirer(s) and Hirer takes on rental the motor vehicle described overleaf subject to all terms and conditions of this Agreement.

Hirer will return vehicle together with all tyres, tools accessories, and equipment, in the same condition as when received, to the place an on the date specified overleaf and will use the vehicle in a reasonable manner.

Mayjo reserves the right to re-inspect the vehicle, in a dirty condition, after cleaning. Mayjo reserves the right to charge the client’s credit card of any new damage found to the vehicle upon collection.  It is advisable that the hirer inspects the vehicle and takes photographs of the car upon pick-up and also informs Mayjo accordingly of any damage which is not indicated in the Vehicle Check Form.  Any damage which is not included in the Vehicle Check Form upon pick-up shall be charged accordingly by Mayjo to the Hirer’s credit card.  The vehicle shall be inspected accordingly by the Hirer in case of return of vehicle outside office hours and photographs of the vehicle must be sent to Mayjo.  The Hirer acknowledges that car inspections will only be made during office hours and therefore it is the responsibility of the Hirer to inspect the vehicle thoroughly. 

Additions to or alterations of the terms and conditions of this agreement shall be null and void unless agreed upon in writing by the parties.

Hirer is not entitled to any offset, deduction or refund in the event that Hirer wishes to terminate or terminates the rental prior to date of termination as stipulated overleaf.




  • For the carriage of passengers for hire or reward.
  • Knowingly for any unlawful purpose and/or lack of Negligence
  • To propel or tow any other vehicle or trailer, or driven in any unsuitable road, for ex: that is too narrow for the vehicle to pass.
  • For racing, pacemaking, reliability tests, speed testing or driving tuition.
  • To carry a greater number of passengers and or baggage than recommended by the vehicle’s manufacturer.
  • By any other person other than the hirer who signed this rental agreement.
  • By any person not holding a valid current driving license or any person who has given a fictitious name.
  • By any person under the influence of alcohol or other intoxicants like drugs or narcotics or under any other physical or mental impairment which adversely affects driver’s ability to operate the vehicle.

Mayjo has the right to terminate an agreement or deny service to any hirer who is physically violent towards any of the staff; is not providing the required information, or providing information which was later proven to be incorrect; a hirer continuously ignoring attempts from the company to make contact or hirer suspected of fraud.  


COLLISION DAMAGE WAIVER (hereinafter referred to as CDW) DOES NOT COVER THE FOLLOWING ( FOR HIRER AND THIRD PARTY ):  Windows, Windscreens, Mirrors, Headlamps, Antenna, Wipers, Tyres, Rims, Hubcaps, Car Jack & Tools, damaged clutch due to misuse, damage caused by failure to use correct fuel, Damage on Upholstery, Damage on Baby Seats, GPS,  Soft Tops on Jeeps, Personal Belongings, Loss of Keys, Roof RACKS, Stereo / CD.  JEEPS – Children falling out from Jeep. Mayjo will not be even held responsible for this


Hirer must inform Mayjo immediately, including any public holidays, of any loss of, or damage occurring to vehicle and of any fault, reasonably requiring repair, developing therein, irrespective of amount of excess hirer is responsible for.  In case the hirer is responsible to a zero excess, this will cover up to one new damage, which occurs during the rental duration, and subject that the damage is covered under the collision damage waiver policy.  Hirer must not in case of damage or fault which makes vehicle not roadworthy or liable to cause danger to any person or property use vehicle until such damage or fault has been repaired or corrected. Failure to do this will render all Insurances void.


Whilst Mayjo has maintained vehicle to at least the manufacturer’s recommended standards but it shall not be liable for any consequences arising from mechanical failure of the vehicle, although all reasonable precautions have been taken to prevent such happenings.

In the case of claims, the hirer shall be obliged to pay all the claim charges and administration fees applicable inlcuding any excess even if such excess may be recoverable under the insurance coverage.  The Hirer shall be liable to pay any damage caused by an act of God unless such circumstance is covered by the Full Collision Damage Waiver Insurance.  Death or Bodily Injury to third parties is limited to €6,070,000 and Third Party Property Damage is limited to €1,220,000 for any one claim or a series of claims.  The driver is never insured.

In the case of an accident or damage to third party vehicle or property only, the hirer shall be responsible for any excess or administration fees which are applicable. 



Mayjo will preauthorise an amount up to the chosen excess on the credit or debit card supplied. A minimum of €100.00 will be blocked on any credit card or €200.00 in case of a debit card. The preauthorisation amount will be held by your credit/debit card issuing bank and will automatically be released after returning the car.

Hirer hereby authorises Mayjo to debit the credit card of the Hirer for the amount of the rental if Mayjo is not paid within 90 days by any travel agent and or their agent who have booked this rental on behalf of the Hirer.



Cancellation between 24 to 72 Hrs before Car Hire Pick up time: 50% of the Rental Cost must be payable to Mayjo.

Cancellation up to 24 Hrs before Car Hire Pick up time or in case of No Show: Full Rental Cost must be payable to Mayjo.



Fines and Fees

Hirer expressly acknowledges personal liability to pay Mayjo on demand:  All fines and court costs for parking, traffic or other offences incurred in relation to said vehicle by Hirer’s from the commencement of this Agreement until the vehicle is returned.  These costs shall also include reasonable legal fees incurred in collecting payments due from hirer.  An administration fee of EUR 10.00 applies to any and each contravention, which does not carry penalty points, paid by the company on the renter's behalf.  An administration fee of EUR 15.00 applies to any and each contravention, which carries penalty points.  A EUR 10.00 admin fee will apply for any CVA fees incurred for entering into Valletta.


In case of any accident or new damage on the vehicle, an administration fee of EUR 50.00 will be charged for dealing with the incident. In case of an accident where the vehicle needs immediate repairs and cannot be taken back on the road, a further EUR 100.00 will be charged, if the renter is at-fault. Liability will be determined by Mayjo. It shall be the responsibility of the Hirer to inform Mayjo of any accident involving the vehicle and this by not later than twelve (12) hours after the accident.  In default, Mayjo reserves the right to charge the Hirer of any damages sustained to the vehicle. 


If any vehicle is returned back with less fuel than received, an administrative fee of EUR 10.00 will be added on top of the missing quantity of fuel.  Fuel must be filled back full to the maximum capacity, otherwise, the missing amount will be charged.

Excess Dirt

Mayjo accepts that the vehicle/s may be returned reasonably dirty with fair wear and tear.  However, extreme dirt, including excessive bird droppings, mud stains, and sand that requires special and/or extensive cleaning will be charged for at a minimum cost of EUR 14.00, up to a maximum of EUR 50.00.  Any bird droppings should be cleaned immediately by taking the car to a car wash as it can cause costly damage to the paint of the car. Should such damage occur, it will be charged accordingly.  Any damage or stains to seats/upholstery, will be charged accordingly.  Smoking is not allowed in the car.


Any extensions on the hire of the vehicle must be notified to Mayjo immediately and personally.  Failure to do so means that the driver is driving the vehicle without insurance cover.  An administrative fee of EUR 30.00 (Gozo) and EUR 50.00 (Malta) plus and parking fines (if any), will apply if any vehicle is returned late or not ready for collection at the agreed time.

Other Fees

Charges and service fees may apply relating to incidents that have occurred during the hire period. Examples: vehicle needs to be moved due to being parked wrong and renter is not reachable over phone; causing a flat battery due to lights being left on; locked keys; etc. (Administrative fees vary depending on the case and location).A €30 fee plus any parking fines incurred will apply if vehicle is parked in a prohibited place at the end of the rental

All charges and other amounts billed pursuant to this agreement are payable by Hirer.

  • In cash at conclusion of rental.
  • If a credit card acceptable to Mayjo is used, upon Hirer’s receipt of applicable statement or invoice, Credit card holder authorises Mayjo to process a credit card voucher, if applicable in Hirer’s name for charges and consents to reservation of credit with card holder for an amount equal to estimated charges due.


All charges are subject to audit. If upon audit, an error is found, credit card holder authorises Mayjo to correct such charges, including changing any charge card invoices signed by Hirer, to reflect correct charges.



  • Rates include the ferry ticket for the driver & vehicle ONLY but do not include ferry tickets for passengers. Passenger ferry tickets (€4.65 for adults and €1.15 for children up to 12 years) are an extra cost.  These are only paid one time on the return journey, so NOT on Arrival. Any extra stops come at an extra fee. 
  • Baby Seat / Booster Seat can be supplied on request in Taxi / Minivan at no extra cost.
  • Due to unforeseen circumstances such as ferry problems, delays or big queues at the ferry terminal, a direct transfer can be changed to a split transfer, also for the benefit of the customer in order to avoid delays to get to the final destination.  This is most common on Sunday afternoons and/or on eve of public holidays, however, it can happen during other days as well.  In such cases, the customer will be informed beforehand by mobile and/or email.
  • Divers / Excess Luggage: Amount of luggage and size (where applicable) must be always confirmed with Mayjo before informing final price to the client. Price might vary according to the type of minivan required due to the size of the luggage, independent of the number of persons travelling.  In case there will be larger than standard or more luggage than informed upon booking, extra charges will apply accordingly.  
  • There might be instances in which Mayjo would need to contact the customer, therefore, a mobile contact number (including country code) of the person travelling is to be provided upon booking the service. 
  • Cancellation Policy. FOR TAXI TRANSFERS: Last minute cancellation of less than 24 hours prior the pick-up time will incur the full cost of the transfer.  Please ensure that the details provided (such as dates, flight details and number of persons) are correct.  The full cost of the transfer will be charged if any details provided are incorrect and as a result the transfer would have to be cancelled or postponed.  There is no cancellation fee if Mayjo is notified more than 24 hours in advance.  FOR TOURS, 50% of the costs will be charged if cancelled betweend 48 hours to 24 hours prior to the pick-up time/date.  Full costs will be charged if cancelled less than 24 hours prior to the pick-up time/date.
